Code of Conduct for the Parents, Players, Coaches and Administrators of the Carolina Baseball Club and Carolina Blue Sox Baseball Teams
The Carolina Baseball Club (“CBC”) believes that athletic competition should demonstrate high standards of ethics and sportsmanship and promote the development of good character and other important life skills. We also believe that the highest potential of sports is achieved when participants, parents, spectators and coaches are committed to pursuing victory with honor. Participation on a Carolina Blue Sox Baseball team is a privilege, not a right, and all players, coaches and parents are expected to represent their team and the Carolina Baseball Club with honor, on and off the field. As such, the CBC has adopted the following six core principles: trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, and good citizenship.[1]
TRUSTWORTHINES We will act honorably and will not engage in any dishonest or unsportsmanlike behavior. We will be reliable and honor our commitments, both to team and community. We will be loyal to our coaches, teammates and organization.
RESPECT We will treat others with respect.
RESPONSIBILITY We will do our best to make team practices and tournaments. We will be accountable for our actions. We will accept the fact that we are a team and understand that we have a responsibility to ensure that the entire team behaves in a responsible manner. Poor behavior by any team member, coach or parent reflects poorly on us, the team and the organization.
FAIRNESS We will play by the rules and will not intentionally break the rules for any reason. We will allow others to express their points of view. We will not bully or unjustly impose our will on others. We will not unjustly blame others.
CARING We will encourage all players regardless of their performance. We will never encourage the injury of any player, officials or fellow spectator. We will consider the needs of all members of the team and not just our own needs or the needs of a particular player. CITIZENSHIP
